James Blake, not only a master in making the music, but also in bringing it. Here's a set I would like to share with you guys. It's Blake's performance at Splendour In The Grass 2011, located in Australia. The way he brings 'Klavierwerke' is just simply madness! Looking forward to see him again at Pukkelpop 2011.
Since the last post dates from april, it's about time to provide you guys with some tracks.
Kicking down the post with the Groundislava debut LP which is an absolutely astonishing album. This is the outcome of combining creativity with 8bit and chip-tune samples, amazing!
D33J, a member of the wedidit collective, just brought out his first ever public release, entitled 'Tide Songs'. You're able to download it for free here.
The Belgian band AKS (Addicted Kru Sound) is on the edge of releasing their first EP on Forma.T Records, which is going te be dropped somewhere may. In anticipation of their EP, they already released a track called 'Give It Back' featuring Lola for the vocal part of the song. I had never heard of this Lola but her voice is definitely incredible! The single is out since the 3th of april, you're able to grab it here if you'd like to.
Here it is, the new Amon Tobin album 'Isam' (released on the mighty Ninja Tune label) with all of the full tracks available for preview. Most of the tracks remind me of a lovechild between Eskmo and 16bit, which is a good thing of course! My personal favorites? Lost & Found and Bedtime Stories (you won't expect that massive drop!)
On the 4th of april, SebastiAn's brand new track 'Embody' has been released on Ed Banger. The Embody EP comes with a remix by Kavinsky and DJ Premier 95 Break. Check the Embody videoclip below, directed by So Me.
Embody will be the first single on SebastiAn's upcoming debut LP Total. Total is set to be released on the 30th of may 2011! You can watch the trailer for Total below.
Here's a track that's been roaming around for a little while in my iTunes without being shared with you guys yet! The artist is called Ifan Dafydd of who there's little to say, but some think it's James Blake under one of his aliases of which there's no prove yet. All we can say is that this Ifan Dafydd uses samples from Amy Winehouse's'You Know I'm No Good'. So the actual title of the song clearly refers to that. Enjoy this wonderful piece of music!
Let me introduce you to Asa, one of my favorite artists at the moment. He's made some really deep and beautiful tracks that will stay in your head for hours after hearing them. Check out his masterpiece, what a beauty:
This week, he gave away a remix with Koan Sound for free on his SoundCloud, you can download it below for free. Good stuff!
Last friday III Years Of RAMPAGE took place. The event was hosted at Trix, Antwerp. Too bad i wasn't there, knowing they put up two rooms of drum&bass and dubstep giving us artists like DJ AMC, Delta Heavy, Logistics, Gemini, Dubba Jonny and many more! So here's the good news, i found out about some livesets that were recorded during the evening.
Justice strikes again! They recently announced their new single 'Civilization' on their facebook fanpage, which will be released on the 4th of april 2011! This is the first single on their forthcoming album, which will be released on Ed Banger later on 2011. Civilization is used in the brand new adidas campaign directed by Romain Gavras, the director of 'A Cross The Universe' and 'Stress'.
oOoOO, which, like San Francisco producer Christopher Greenspan says, came from when he was putting songs on his MySpace and he just put in a bunch of O's. And so he says "What I do is poppy electronica, in my mind". He uses cut samples and airy, tweaked vocals to surround his melodies and so he did for his remix on 'Obsessions' by Marina & The Diamonds.
He made a guest mix for kmag [tracklist], giving us an apetiser of some of his newest tunes, which haven't been aired anywhere before. So be sure to have a look at this one. Surprisingly, the mix also includes some drum and bass from the more darker side.
Hi there again, my last post was like a month ago so it's about time i start posting again. I remember a fan asking for an upload of Blissful Ignorance by B-Complex. It's already been a while ago, just couldn't find out anything about this tune. So here it is, one of the newest tunes by B-Complex. It has been released in a special way, meaning that you got a free 3-track ep when buying tickets for Hospitality at Brixton academy. B-Complex - Blissful Ignorance
I have received some fresh information from Dark Arx about some of their new plans and releases. First of we can expect a new Gerry Read release during the few next weeks, vinyl only though and the track "will work equally well in a dingy London basement as at a Miami beach party". Very curious about this one. You can read the review I did on his first EP right here, and it was number two on my top 5 releases from 2009/2010. So be sure to check it out.
As you can hear, the EP gives us 4 totally diverse but great tracks. EP release date is February 7. But you can also Pre-Order the limited Vinyl right here: http://www.cargorecords.co.uk/release/14732
On the 21st of this month Darx Arx will be doing a late night set at CAMP for the Reggae Roast monthly. So be sure to check the blog the day after if you're interested about the set.
